When must you obligated to follow a Rabbi's advice?

The question came up in a seminar that I give in th Sefaradi Community in Brooklyn, If you ask a Rav something, must you follow through on it afterwards? In what way can one ask and not be obligated by the answer?

What you can do is say to the Rav friom the onset, that it is possible that you will seek the opinion of another rav once he tells you what to do.

With Blessings.
