Wedding on Rosh Chodesh Iyar

Can a wedding be held
on Rosh Chodesh Iyar,
where the bride is
Sephardi and the groom
is Ashkenazi?

To the Questioner,

There is a problem concerning making a
wedding on Rosh Chodesh Iyar (the beginning
of the month of Iyar) for both Sephardim and
Ashkenazim because it is in the middle of the
Omer. The custom is not to wed during these

(Ashkenazim do not make weddings until the 33
of the Omer [Lag B’Omer] and Sephardim until
34 of the Omer. See Shulchan Aruch and Rema
Orach Chaim 493:1, and Responsa Yabia Omer
Vol. 3, Orach Chaim 26:4.)

With blessings,
