A Halachic Question



One of my students asked me this question during a lecture, and i need to clarify the issue. This is the question he asked:

I wanted to kasher (make kosher) my meat cutlery and in order to do that, I took a meaty pot and filled it with very boiling water and I left the cutlery in that for about ten minutes.  Is the cutlery now kosher?  After ten minutes I washed the pot and the cutlery in cold water and I dried it with the towel.


 I am assuming that 24 hours had already passed from the last time the cutlery was used until you koshered it.  Therefor everything is kosher, without question.
